I completely understand tracking calories isn't for everyone. So here is my quick tips for non-trackers.
There's the famous "hand" method
🖐 Palm sized protein
👊 Fistful of Fibre (veg)
💁♀️ Cupped hand of carbs
👍 Thumbful of fats
If you're gaining weight you know you need to put less on your plate than you're doing so now. Keep putting less on until you start losing weight.
⭐️I do believe tracking calories and macros is the most efficient way to lose fat AND learn about the nutritional content in food. However like i said it's not appropriate for everyone,
